The ABC Asia Pacific News Center highlighted our report A New Approach: Breaking the Stalemate of Refugee & Asylum Seekers and its broad support among political and industry leaders.

Prominent Australians from a broad spectrum of industry and politics have backed a call for the scrapping of mandatory detention for asylum seekers.

They support a return to a bipartisan – or politically cooperative – approach.

The recommendation is being made in a new policy paper from a body called the Center for Policy Development.
