Early Childhood Development Initiative – several positions

The Centre for Policy Development is looking to hire several policy positions for their Early Childhood Development Initiative.   

In these roles you will be working on policy analysis and system reform in the ECD policy space, so that Australia can become the best place to be and raise a child. You will be involved with policy work focused on improving paid parental leave, maternal and child health, early childhood education and care, transitions to school, wraparound and integrated services, and related policy areas that support families and young children from birth to 8 years old.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on one of the most important issues for our society and economy in Australia. Our team enjoys frequent interaction with policymakers in government, media, and the wider policy world. You’ll be joining a close-knit team that delivers real impact at senior levels of policymaking. 

Expertise in early childhood development policy is desirable but not required. Individuals who have relevant skills in a related or similar field and have a passion for this policy area are encouraged to apply.

Sustainable Economy Program – Senior Policy Adviser

The Centre for Policy Development (CPD) is looking to hire a creative Senior Adviser to join our Sustainable Economy team. The successful candidate will help us make a difference on some of the most important issues for Australia’s economy: carbon transition, economic development, and the long-term structural challenges we need to build a sustainable and prosperous future. This is a senior position for someone looking to hone their policy development skills.

Internships are available on a case-by-case basis depending on research project needs. CPD only accepts internships that are part of an accredited program of study, and we are committed to ensuring mutual benefit and genuine professional development through the internship process.

Please attach a CV and cover letter. The cover letter must include a comment (one or two paragraphs) on a CPD research paper and a policy issue the applicant is passionate about. Applications that do not meet these criteria will not be considered.
