In partnership with Liquid Learning and Australian Policy Online, the Centre for Policy Development presents the National Policy Officers’ Conference in Canberra, ACT from March 9 to March 12, 2009.
The conference is a must for anyone working in policy or with an interest in getting into the sector. It has been designed specifically for policy officers, analysts and people working in policy management and evaluation roles, presenting practical advice on how policy officers can become more effective in all aspects of their role in a changing policy environment.
The three days includes workshops outlining practical guides to policy development including ways to utilise cabinet processes and the mechanics of government followed by a series of case study presentations from experienced policy officers from federal, state and local government. Presenters will draw on their own experiences to provide participants with practical advice on how they can become more effective in the various aspects of their role from policy development to implementation, analysis, evaluation and review – all facets of the policy making process will be explored.
