Professor Roy Green

Roy Green is Chair of Port of Newcastle to contribute to sustainable growth, innovation and diversification in the Hunter region. He has worked in universities, business and government in Australia and overseas, including most recently as Dean of the UTS Business School at the University of Technology Sydney. Roy's doctorate is from the University of Cambridge and he has published widely in the areas of innovation policy and management and undertaken projects with the OECD and European Commission. He is a Fellow of the RSA and Irish Academy of Management. Roy chaired the Australian Government’s Innovative Regions Centre and CSIRO Manufacturing Sector Advisory Council, and has served on the Prime Minister’s Manufacturing Taskforce and as expert adviser to the recent Senate Innovation System inquiry. He led Australian participation in a global study of management and productivity and an Australian Business Deans Council initiative on the future of management education. He was recently appointed chair of the Queensland Competition Authority.
